We are hosting a new exhibition : “Ceci n’est pas un portrait” which will present portraits like never before !
Portraits can be idealised to valorise the model, to reflect his or her personality or to transcribe the artist’s perception.
They are not always true to reality. They may be created for political, social or personal reasons, and can question the role of image and representation. They may render the physical appearance of the model, but they may also reflect his or her social status or try to convey the psychological qualities of the person.
Images speak louder than words and can be a true reflection of reality. Powerful messages will be hiding behind these portraits… Are you ready to discover them ?
